Heirs to Theseus by Alcritas (alcritas@att.net) sounded like an interesting scenario, so I downloaded it to see if it would live up to its description. For the most part, it did. It has lots of combat; in fact the whole scenario is combat...
The plot of Theseus is simple. Basically you have to defend the fort from the slith attacks for three days until reinforcements arrive. There are only 7 other soldiers left in the fort when you arrive with your group, which got ambushed on the way, and now only your six PCs are left, so there really is no group at all. You are restricted to the fort through the duration of the entire scenario, and I wouldn’t recommend deserting your post...
It was suggested that you use the party provided with the scenario. The first time I played it, I used this party, the second time, I used my own. My conclusion is that it IS best to use the provided party, as any other party is either so weak the scenario is unbeatable or too strong so the scenario is too easy.
When you finish it, the scenario leaves you with somewhat of an empty and incomplete feeling. But then, what can you expect from a scenario that was finished in 6 hours...I give it a 6.0 for 6 hours of work.
