Exile 2 has 3 main goals that need to be performed to secure Exile's future:
  • To return the three crystal souls (Vyvras, Jeknol and Caffren) which were stolen by the Empire to the Vahnatai. This will persuade the Vahnatai to enter the war on your side.
  • To destroy the high-capacity portal that is being built to allow more Empire troops down from the surface.
  • To kill Garzahd, the mage and leader of the Empire forces.

    Also there are many other more minor things you can do...you can also load up my own game notes for further info including teleportation codes and Exile 2's Easter Egg!


    The Retrieval of the Crystal Souls

    Caffren-Bok
    To find Caffren-Bok you must first find out who has been supplying information to the Empire. Ask around in Olgai and someone will tell you that Gnee has been expecting humans. Find Gnee (in the south east of the city) and ask him about 'empire'. He will tell you the location of a key to the fort of the Vahnatai who have been helping the Empire. The key is hidden in a tree behind some barracks in Avit, 'The City of Peace'. Now, making sure you have the Orb of Thralni first (it is in Fortress Kothar, west of Fort Emerald), head north from Mancuso. Fly over the chasms until you reach a fort. Enter it by using the key, kill everyone, and get the evidence. Return with this evidence to Olgai and the council will tell you to go to Fort Haledon, only recently awakened, in the far west of the Vahnatai lands. Give the commander of Fort Haledon the orders you are given and follow the story from there to retrieve Caffren-Bok, who is being held captive in Ornotha Ziggurat.

    Vyvnas-Bok and Jekknol-Bok
    One of these is being held in the Empire Fort of Akhronath (no relation to the web pages of the same name), which is far to the west of Exile lands in the tunnels (if you don't know where this is then you might want to check out my maps page). To free the crystal soul though you need quickfire, which can be obtained from Rentar-Ihrno in one of the Vahnatai towns, who wants you to get her a book that is the property of a rather unpleasant demon in the far north of Vahnatai lands. If this sounds complicated, it is :o).


    The Destruction of the Empire teleportal

    This comes later in the game and requires the input of three codes....it's ages since I played the game so I've forgotten where exactly you have to key them in but I think it's in the big control room...anyway, in case you can't find them, here they are:

    Activation - Khali
    Direction - Bestas
    Stability - Vrain


    The Defeat of Garzahd

    Garzahd is an Empire Arch-Mage who is effectively the leader of the Empire's invasion force. Killing him will be the last straw for the Empire, who will subsequently retreat. Solberg, hiding in his tower from Garzahd, will tell you that the only way to kill Garzy is through mind-dueling, as Garzahd has cast so many spells on himself that he is immune to most forms of attack. For mind-duelling you need smoky crystals, perhaps a ring of will, and the spell itself (which can be bought from a mage in the south of the Tower of the Magi). The plot should lead you to him...more to come later.


    Other things...

    Empire Passes
    Red
    If you complete the mission for the talking spiders (resuce their eggs) at a cave west of your start position in the game then you will be allowed entrance to a cut off part of their lair. The red pass is part of the reward.
    Blue
    To the south of Cotra, (in chapter 4, NNW of Magi tower) there is an island. Search it and find a secret Empire Fort. Kill the troups in it and in the building to the east you find the pass on the desk.
    Grey
    Far to the west of the tower of magi you come across a large field of lava. (not the first one, when you continiue you find the right lava spot south of a river). Use firewalk (if you have it), and proceed down to the west corner of the field. There you chould find a the steam cave. walk to the SW corner of it and walk around by the obelisk, and you'll find a secret fort. in the fort, walk through the lava to the east, until you find the staircase special. Once in, go to the locked door at NW. There on the desk you should find the pass.

    Clearances
    Soldier
    This is the one you have from the begining. So you don't really don't to know anything about it. One place you use it in though is in Almaria, Far west from the Tower of Magi.
    Magi
    To get the magi clearence you will have to do at least three missions and go to the castle in SouthWestern Exile. Once you get it, here are some places you should go to:
    The castle (in the East of it),
    Tower of Magi ( in the SouthWest of it),
    Mortax lair (in the NorthWest of it)
    Royal
    I guess you get this once you acomplish another 3 missions and return to the castle. Once you get it, here are some places you should go to:
    The castle (in the East of it),
    Tower of solberg (follow the river south of Formello to the east to get there),
